Susan Ford

Receptionist/Office Manager

Susan earned her CMA from Kings College in 1983 and has worked in the practice for over 30 years. She loves interacting with patients; many of whom she has known for decades.

Susan and her husband Randy have one daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family on Lake Norman, at the beach, and in the mountains.

Kathy Barbee

Dental Assistant 2

Kathy graduated from the dental assisting program at Central Piedmont Community College in 1974 and has been with the practice since 1987. Her passion is patient care, and she serves a number of roles in the practice.

Kathy is married with one daughter and is a proud grandmother. She likes to read, craft, and spend time with her family. She is also a Carolina Panthers fan.

Miranda Etter

Dental Assistant

Miranda completed her dental assisting training in 2006 and joined our practice in 2020. She assists Dr. Shah-Khan in a wide array of procedures. She loves the artistic and hands-on side of dentistry, as well as being able to meet new people.

Miranda and her husband Billy have two children. They are also passionate about Crossfit and own a local gym.

Patricia Moses

Registered Dental Hygienist

Patricia received her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Dentistry from Southern Wesleyan University in 2007, followed by her Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from Central Piedmont Community College in 2010. She joined our team in 2020 and is excited to use her years of experience to help patients achieve their optimal dental health.

Patricia is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, and reading.

Karen Son

Registered Dental Hygienist

Karen received her Dental Hygiene degree from Central Piedmont Community College after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, North Carolina Dental Hygiene Association, and is an active volunteer with NC Missions of Mercy clinics. Karen enjoys building trusting relationships with her patients while providing exceptional care for their oral health.

Outside of the office, Karen enjoys spending time with her dog, Sushi, cross-stitching, reading, and traveling, especially to the beach or her home state of California.
